Role Overview

We are looking for a commercially minded, hands-on Senior Mobile Engineer with real connected-product / IoT experience to build and take long-term technical ownership of the mobile experience behind Pro Breeze connected products.

Based from our Bengaluru office, you will work with teams across the UK, India, China and other markets, helping us build a high-quality software experience around a growing range of connected consumer products.

This is a senior, hands-on engineering role. We are looking for someone who has personally shipped production mobile applications that connect to real physical products. Please do not apply if your experience is primarily standard mobile apps, websites or dashboards without device connectivity.

This is not a narrow development role where requirements are fully specified and handed over as tickets. We need someone who can take a broad product objective, understand the underlying problem, shape a practical solution, build it, test it properly and support it in production.

You will help us build, improve and scale the mobile experience across a growing range of connected products, working closely with product development, design, customer experience and our teams in China.

You should be highly comfortable using modern AI-assisted and agentic development tools to work significantly faster, while still taking full responsibility for security, reliability, maintainability and the quality of what is released.

Key Responsibilities

Build and Own the Mobile Experience

• Build, maintain and continuously improve our connected-product mobile app across iOS and Android.

• Turn product ideas and rough briefs into clear, reliable customer-facing software.

• Build consistent and intuitive experiences across different connected appliances.

• Own functionality including accounts, device onboarding, pairing, product control, notifications, support journeys and analytics.

• Take responsibility for App Store and Google Play releases and ongoing compatibility.

Connected Products & IoT

• Integrate mobile applications with real connected consumer products using technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE and third-party IoT platforms.

• Build reliable onboarding, pairing and device-control experiences.

• Diagnose real-world connectivity and device-control problems across different phones, networks, products and environments.

• Work with product development and our China teams when issues cross between the mobile app, connected-device platform, firmware and physical product.

• Help evaluate technical approaches that improve reliability, customer experience and development speed.

• Test extensively against real devices rather than relying only on emulators or ideal conditions.

AI-Native Engineering

• Use modern coding agents and AI-assisted development tools as part of your normal engineering workflow.

• Use AI to accelerate implementation, testing, debugging, refactoring and documentation without lowering engineering standards.

• Know when generated code is wrong, unsafe or unnecessarily complex and be able to correct it.

• Continuously improve how agentic development can allow a small engineering team to deliver at high speed.

Production Ownership & Quality

• Own features from initial problem through implementation, testing, release and production support.

• Investigate root causes rather than repeatedly patching symptoms.

• Build reliable error handling, logging, monitoring and analytics into the application.

• Write maintainable software and avoid unnecessary complexity or rewrites.

• Take security, authentication, customer data and connected-device reliability seriously.

• Make sensible technical trade-offs rather than automatically building the most complex solution.

Cross-Functional Working

• Work directly with senior leadership, product development, design, customer experience and our China teams.

• Explain technical issues and trade-offs clearly in plain English.

• Challenge requirements where there is a safer, simpler or better solution.

• Work independently and take ownership rather than waiting for detailed instructions.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Already operating at Senior Mobile Engineer level, with strong evidence of independently owning production software.

• Strong professional experience shipping mobile applications to both iOS and Android.

• Personally shipped at least one production mobile application that connects to or controls real physical devices.

• Hands-on experience with BLE, Wi-Fi or comparable connected-device technologies.

• Experience debugging issues involving both mobile software and physical devices.

• Strong experience with APIs, authentication, push notifications, application state and production monitoring.

• Experience releasing and maintaining applications through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the judgement to design maintainable systems.

• Regular, meaningful use of modern AI-assisted development tools.

• Comfortable working from our Bengaluru office five days per week.

We care more about evidence of ownership, technical judgement and what you have actually shipped than simply the number of years on your CV.

Highly Desirable

Experience in some of the following areas would be particularly valuable:

• Consumer IoT platforms and mobile SDKs

• Mobile device provisioning and onboarding

• IoT cloud platforms

• Connected-device protocols

• OTA firmware update workflows

• Cross-platform mobile development such as React Native or Flutter

• Native iOS or Android development

• Consumer appliances or other mass-market connected products

• Working closely with embedded or firmware engineers

• Connected-device security and authentication

You do not need to be an embedded hardware or firmware specialist. We are primarily looking for someone who can own the mobile/software side of the connected-product experience and work effectively with specialists where deeper embedded expertise is required.
