Salary and Location: Please be aware that this role is based in our Guangzhou office (on-site work required), and the monthly salary package is between RMB 15,000 and RMB 20,000 before tax.
What does a Quality Assurance Executive do?
As the Quality Assurance Executive, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every product we bring to market meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. From auditing factories to managing supplier assessments and overseeing product testing, you will be at the forefront of maintaining excellence. Working closely with the Product, Purchasing, Marketplace, Customer Care and Compliance teams you will help drive continuous improvement and ensure we lead the market in product quality and compliance.
Product Categories: Consumer Goods, including Household Electrical Appliances, Hardgoods and Softgoods.
Role & Responsibilities
· Product Quality and Compliance: Ensure all products in your assigned categories meet the highest safety, quality, and regulatory standards before launch. Conduct thorough inspections, tests, and documentation reviews to confirm compliance and prevent issues.
· Product Technical File: Compile and maintain accurate technical files, including regulatory artwork, safety instructions, and other required documentation. Ensure all files remain up to date and fully compliant with global regulations.
· Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about global regulatory requirements (e.g., CE, UKCA, RoHS, FDA) relevant to your product categories. Ensure all products meet necessary certifications and maintain compliance throughout the development process.
· Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development, Purchasing, and Compliance teams to integrate quality assurance at every stage, from concept to launch. Proactively address potential quality issues within your assigned categories before they escalate.
· Product Testing: Oversee and coordinate testing with third-party labs and internal inspection teams, ensuring rigorous quality validation throughout production. Identify and implement improvements when deviations from standards occur.
· Inspection Scheduling: Manage inspection timelines, including construction checks, Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSIs), and During Production Inspections (DPIs). Review reports to identify non-compliances, drive corrective actions, and ensure products meet quality standards before shipment approval.
· Product Fault Resolution: Take ownership of identifying and resolving product faults within your assigned categories. Analyse returns data, quality reports, and customer feedback to determine root causes. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to implement corrective actions, ensuring swift resolution and preventing recurrence.
· Supplier Audits and Quality Control: Conduct regular audits and quality checks with suppliers to uphold One Retail Group’s quality standards. Provide feedback, address identified issues, and implement Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), tracking their progress to ensure timely resolution.
· Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance product quality and reduce defects within your categories. Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to strengthen the QA function and maintain consistently high standards.
Skills & Experience Required
· Preferred 5+ years of quality assurance experience, ideally in an international setting.
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Product Design, or a related field.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).
· Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to quickly identify quality issues, implement effective corrective actions, and drive measurable improvements that reduce return rates and enhance overall product quality.
· Ability to confidently communicate complex technical quality issues in clear and simple terms to cross-functional teams, providing practical solutions to drive improvements and ensure alignment on quality standards.
· Experience working with Chinese suppliers, with strong communication and relationship management skills. Confident in discussing quality requirements, presenting inspection results, and handling negotiations on quality issues.
· Experience collaborating with international teams and an understanding of cultural nuances that affect communication and workflows.
· Keen attention to detail for reviewing product specifications, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
· Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including data manipulation and analysis.
· Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards.
· Commercial mindset with the ability to balance quality assurance with business priorities, considering cost, timelines, and overall product strategy to align decisions with company goals.
· Familiarity with international standards such as CE, UKCA, RoHS, FDA, etc., regulations is advantageous.
